Australia's newest theatre is set to open in October, right here in Cootamundra. The "Tin Shed Theatre", the latest part of the arts complex at the Cootamundra Creative Arts and Cultural Centre in Wallendoon Street, will be formally opened at a ceremony on Friday 7th October by Mary Darwell, the CEO of Arts New South Wales, before hosting a weekend of celebratory events.

Friday night will see talented local musicians and singers take the stage, in "Viva La Musica" - a celebration of classical and contemporary music in the region. Tickets (adults $10, kids $5) are available at Deep's Clothing now!

Saturday night will feature the performing arts, with dance, drama, mime and poetry all on the menu. "What A Performance" will be an exciting and varied affair - the ideal way to celebrate the opening of this wonderful new venue. Tickets are at Deep's Clothing on Parker Street now ($10 adults, $5 kids).

Sunday at the Tin Shed Theatre is all about film: did you know that the theatre incorporates a fully-featured state of the art cinema? This third day of celebrations kicks off at 2pm with a screening of "Happy Feet", the popular childrens' film, followed by "Mao's Last Dancer" for the grown-ups at 5pm. Tickets are available on the door on the day, priced at $10 for adults and $5 for kids.

The Arts Centre will also be open to the public throughout the weekend, so why not come along and take a look? There will be a FREE art exhibition by local artists all weekend. The whole town is invited to attend a packed weekend of celebrations and entertainment with something for everyone.
