COOTAMUNDRA COMMUNITY ARTS TRUST (CCAT)
In 2008 a board of Trustees was formed to oversee the Cootamundra Community Arts Trust. It is comprised of 6 upstanding members of the Cootamundra community including 2 artists.
The CCAT is completely independant of the CCACC committee.
The broad aim of the Trust is to further artistic infrastructure, education, performance and endeavour within the Cootamundra community.
As of the 3rd June 2009 the Federal Minister for the Arts, Peter Garrett approved the Gift Recipient Status of the Trust which means that the trustees are now able to accept tax deductible donations.
Initial fundraising by the Trust will be directed towards contributing to the completion of the fit out of the Cootamundra Creative Arts and Cultural Centre. Once this capital works project is finalised, the Trust will be able to broaden its support to include education programs, performances, workshops and equipment. The Trust aims in particular to support projects which develop and propagate artistic skills within the community, so that the skills are retained in the community, for the benefit of the community as a whole.
YOUR DONATIONS TO THE COOTAMUNDRA COMMUNITY ARTS TRUST ARE WELCOMED.

POLICY GUIDELINES
1. General purpose and objectives of the CCAT
Education objectives of the Trust:
-to fund arts projects which not only benefit individual applicants, but which need to also demonstrably benefit the wider Cootamundra community. (Eg) Applicants who benefit from grants can then propagate those skills via workshops thereby increasing the pool of talent within the community.
-to fund the education strand of performance bookings at the Arts Centre. (Eg) When an artist is booked for a performance, the Cootamundra Creative Arts & Cultural Centre (CCACC) will pay for the performance. However, the CCAT may fund workshops or education programs which run in conjunction with this performance.
Infrastructure objective of the Trust:
-to fund improvement of facilities at the CCACC which will further arts practice in the community, including, but not limited to, internal fitout of the building and acquisition of new tools, furniture and fixtures.
Exhibition & performance objective of the Trust:
-to fund and facilitate arts projects which encourage excellence in arts practice in the areas of exhibitions and performance, such as the sponsorship of travelling exhibits and performances in the CCACC.
2. Grants overseen by the Trust
The CCAT will provide grants to individuals to further arts practice in Cootamundra.
Applications for Grants will be reviewed by the CCAT on a project by project basis as funds and time allow. Applicants will submit a proposal to the board of Trustees for their consideration and approval. Each proposal must demonstrably improve the pool of arts skills within the community, not just the individual in receipt of the grant.
3. Eligibility criteria under which the CCAT will distribute funds
Individuals in receipt of a grant need to be members of the Cootamundra community or have a demonstrably strong relationship with the Cootamundra region. They need to be looking to not only further their own art practice, but to also share their skills with other community members.
Other funds distributed by the CCAT for capital works or education programs must fulfil the objectives listed above in section 1. Funding priority is given to projects which increase the pool of arts skills within the community.
4. Trust fundraising and distribution
All donations to the CCAT will be unconditional in nature and the Trustees will determine how monies are to be spent.
The CCAT will administer 2 types of donations:
(a) tax deductible donations
- Includes donations from the public, from bequests and other targeted fundraising methods
(b) non tax-deductible donations
- Includes money from foundations and Local, State and Federal government grants.
